Beginning to look like Christmas

WOW, can't believe it's just 2 weeks till the man in red comes, wonder what crafty goodies he might bring us all. My girls are grown up now so don't get quite as excited as they used to, but we had many fantastic times when they were younger.
That Here Come The Boys challenge absolutely flew by, we had loads of brilliant entries. Well done to our winner and our Top 4, amazing to see everyone's talents.
Our challenge this time is ............ Anything Goes - Christmas and New Year. We also have Candy to give away this time, just be a follower of the blog and pop your name in the sidebar MrLinky and you could win £10 worth of digital Christmas Candy.

So, onto my creation this time

I have used Magnolia's Edwin with Sack and I coloured him with my pencils again.

I found some presents stamps in my stash, coloured and glittered them, then cut them out.

I found the fence die cut in my box. I think it is a Spellbinders DLites, I also used a Marianne D Christmas Tree and a Cheery Lynn Snowflake. The background is a cloud effect which I have used on previous cards and I love doing.

And there we have it, something a bit festive for the male in our lives. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, I hope Santa is very kind to you all. Thank you for joining us at Here Come The Boys, we all look forward to seeing you next year.

Lots of love and hugs to you all

So Much Rain .......

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well, and if you are in the UK are staying safe. I cannot believe the rain we are having at the moment, and the floods are just terrible. I had a delivery in Wales last Thursday, just as this storm was moving in, and the conditions were scary. I hope you all manage to stay safe and warm and this nasty weather leaves us very soon.
Well done to everyone who took part in our last challenge at Here Come The Boys . There were some brilliant entries. Congratulations to the winner and the top 3.
This time our challenge is pretty simple, we would like you to make a birthday card, that's it. Here is my offering.
I have stamped my image 4 times, matted a few layers and mounted it all onto one piece of white card.

I went for a simple look this time, I still used my Polychromo's but thought I would try a monochrome look for a change.

I stamped my sentiment onto a punched circle

The stamps are from Hobbycraft's own range I think.

I hope you have enjoyed looking at my crafty offering, I would love to know you stopped by and good luck with the challenge

A Quick Post

Morning all, I hope this post finds you all well. I have been a busy bee this week, lots of things going on so once I have finished this blog post I am having a crafty rest day.
Well done to the winner and top 3 from the die cuts and punches challenge. There were certainly lots of fab entries, glad it wasn't my turn to pick a winner, I would have struggled. All the ladies who have requested to join the GDT will be contacted shortly.
This fortnights challenge at Here Come The Boys is Favourite Film, WOW, did I struggle with this one, I am not a film watcher so needed husbands assistance this time. We went with Pete's Dragon .........
I have used Magnolia's Lilyrose the Dragon for the first time on a card

I have used Polychromos to colour my image.

The sentiment stamp is from a new company called Doodle Do Crafts who make their own clear stamps.

I added some die cut corners and VOILA it was done.

Good luck for this challenge.

A short post ......

Good morning everyone, I hope this post finds you all well. I am currently suffering the effects of a rather bad cold, something I rarely get. I have to admit, I am a terrible patient !!!

Onto business, well done to everyone who took part in the Edwin challenge at Here Come The Boys . some wonderful entries for our favourite boy Edwin. Well done to our winner and runners up.

This fortnights challenge is Use Die Cuts and/or Punches, and we are sponsored by Bugaboo for a chance to win 7 digis. Here's what I came up with :

The image is from Bugaboo and is called Christmas Brat Elf, I have coloured him with a combination of PM's, Copics and pencils. He has been cut out and placed onto 2 die cut shapes.
I have used the same die cut shape for the sentiment.

The snowflakes are a mix of die cuts from Marianne D and Spellbinders. I have used a punch on the corners of the background papers.

I then added a couple of buttons to his boots, and that's it I think. I am now going to crawl back under my blanket, thanks for stopping by and good luck.

Chilly nights are on the way .............

WOW, hasn't the weather changed in the last couple of weeks, cannot believe the temperature drop, so cold.

Thank you for joining us again at Here Come The Boys for our new challenge. Well done to our winner and top 3 for the Monochrome challenge, there were some fab entries, so glad I didn't have to pick the winner.
Anyway, onto this fortnights challenge, Edwin Only, this time you MUST use Edwin on your card to be be eligible for a chance at winning, and that's it.
I have used Ski Edwin with Snowflakes from the new A Christmas Story collection, I loved colouring this image, again I used my polychromo pencils.

I have stamped around the die cut image with a snowflake stamp in blue and edged with my ink duster brushes.  I added a little flocking to Edwin's hat. I used my glitter gel pen to create a snowy effect underneath him

I cut 2 Memory Box Snowflake corner and 2 Marianne D large Christmas Trees from white glitter cardstock and placed them at either edge for a different shape.

I hope you like my interpretation, and I cannot wait to see all your fabulous entries, thanks for stopping by

A quick post

I hope this post finds you all well, hasn't it been a wet week. I hope everybody is safe and hasn't been affected by the flooding. I have seen several bad areas whilst doing my job and feel for all those people who are going through it.

Anyway, some great entries for the recipe challenge, well done to the winner and the top 3. This fortnights challenge at Here Come The Boys is Monochrome. I struggled with this one, it has to be said. I love using lots of colours when I craft, restricting myself to just one was so hard for me !!! I went for a vintage look this time

I stamped my image (cannot remember where it's from ) onto a canvas ATC with my distress inks and used a wet brush to give a watercolour effect

The edges were brushed with Vintage Photo distress ink to give an aged look. I used a Cheery Lynn die for the flourish which I trimmed to fit.

The Post Card is an embossing folder from Docrafts and this was also given an aged effect, a little die cut sentiment was added to this.

Well, must go and do the worst job in the world, shopping !!!! Take care everyone

What a busy week ........

Good Morning everyone

I hope today finds you all well. WOW hasn't that fortnight gone fast, it always amazes me how quickly life can just come in and take over. Some weeks go so slow and then others just whizz by, I don't seem to have time to scratch my head.

Anyway, there were loads of fantastic entries for the Teddy Bears challenge over at Here Come The Boys this fortnight. I had the task as Challenge lead of picking the winner. It was a tough decision as there were so many brilliant entries. Congratulations to the winner and the top 3.

This fortnights challenge is a Recipe challenge.

The Recipe for your card is : 3 papers, 2 buttons/brads and 1 image.

For my card I have used a new Molly Bloom stamp called Skateboarding George, and again he has been coloured with my pencils.

I used papers in my stash from TPC Studio called blips and beeps, unfortunately I couldn't catch the metallic bits on the paper.

All the papers have been layered onto navy cardstock

I added my 2 buttons with twine to finish of the design

Thank you for taking the time to look at my post, have a great day and good luck with the challenge

Some good news .............

Good morning all, I hope this post finds you all well. I have some fantastic news to share with you this fortnight, after several weeks as a Guest Design Team member, Wendy has asked me to join the main Design Team. I am absolutely thrilled to be asked and obviously have accepted. I cannot believe I have become a Design Team member, it was just an amazing WOW moment for me.

Anyway, enough of my waffle and nonsense and onto the business at hand. Lots of fantastic entries for the Sketch challenge, well done to everyone who entered.

This fortnights challenge is Teddy Bears, and the design team have used images from this weeks sponsor Bugaboo Stamps. I have used Theodore - Flowers for this fortnights card

I really enjoyed making this card, I am still playing with my Polychromo pencils and am very pleased at how this has turned out.

My papers are from the Docrafts Wellington pack and are layered straight onto brown card from my stash. The label was a die cut given to me and this has been fastened with a strand of brown cotton floss.

I love to know that people have taken the time to stop by my little corner of blogland, so please leave a comment so I know you've been. Good luck with this fortnights challenge

Hugs

Just Goes To Show .......

Well, what can you do?? You plan your holiday, you pack for every eventuality but it just goes to show mother Nature didn't get the memo !! We set off for our holiday early Wednesday morning, all excited and looking forward to a great week in Cornwall. From the moment we got on the M5, the heavens opened and just never stopped. Arrived at the site, and the lovely lady on reception let us know they had had some heavy rain and the ground was pretty wet. If only, the ground was waterlogged. We moved to a different pitch and the trailer tent was set up between showers. Well, if only that had been the last of it we could have coped, but no, it rained and rained and rained. By Friday, it was pretty obvious we couldn't stay there any longer and after just 60 hours we packed up and drove home along with thousands of others who had also given up. Never mind, we'll just try again next year.

Anyway, well done to everybody who took part in the last challenge, there were some great entries. This fortnights challenge at Here Come the Boys is a sketch challenge and here is my offering. Sorry for the poor photos.

I have used a Molly Bloom image from a magazine freebie and for the first time ever I have used my Polychromos. I have had these pencils for 6 months but never really knew how to use them with the blender stumps and Odourless Mineral Spirit, but fellow blog teamie Mandz did a photo tutorial and I have been practising. Not perfect yet but getting there.

I cut out a star and used another magazine freebie for the sentiment.

Added some stars to continue the star theme I have used.

Anyway, many apologies for the quick post, we are going to have a day out to make up for our ruined hols, so please have a great day, let me know you have visited by leaving a comment and I will 'see' you next time

Sunday 5 August 2012

Well I am going to say good morning but it's not such a bright and sunny day here in Boston today, makes you wonder what is happening with the weather doesn't it?

There were some fantastic entries for the Jungle challenge, well done to the winner Kelly Lloyd, your card was fab. So here we are with another challenge from Here Come The Boys. This fortnights challenge is Boys Toys. I spend a lot of my time driving, and see many 'boys' out in their little racing cars, so here is my take on Boys Toys.
I have used a Teddy Bo image this time

I have used papers from my stash, and I have coloured  my image with a combination of Promarkers and Copics, I have listed these at the end.

Again I have used clouds in my background, I just love this technique, so easy and effective. It can be found here
I made my banners from my stash and added the 3 yellow buttons, the Wish stamp is from Stampavie .

Markers Used :
Teddy Bo : E31, Y21, E33
Jumper : PM Azure
Car : PM Yellow, Y15
Car Accents : R29
Ground : C1

Thank you for stopping by, it's always great to know you have been by so please leave a comment.

Sunday 22 July 2012

Good morning again to all, can't believe it's been two weeks already since my last blog, hopefully the weather is getting better for everybody. What a washout it has been eh?

Well done to everybody who entered the Tag challenge, loads of great entries. Congratulations to the winner, Sam Whisper No 4, fantastic entry.

So who's up for another challenge from the Here Come The Boys blog, the theme for this fortnight's challenge is Jungle.

I have used Jungle Edwin this time

The leaves are cut with a Cheery Lynn die from scraps in my stash

Edwin has been coloured with copics, but like an idiot I have since tidied my craft room and haven't noted them for you. My cloud background was done from a brilliant tutorial which can be found here by the talented Hazel

These banners are also cut from my stash and are very easy to do but so effective for a boys card

Anyway, thanks for popping by, please leave a comment as I love to know you have been and good luck in the Jungle challenge

A first time for everything!

Good morning and thank you for taking the time to visit me in my little crafty corner. It has certainly been a week of firsts for me , I won my first challenge, I am doing my first design team card and this is my first ever blog post. Earlier this week I was given the fab opportunity to have a Guest Designer spot with Here Come The Boys, my first ever. Once I had gotten over the OMG's and the Aaaargh what am I gonna do?'s, I scuttled up to my little craft room and here's what I came up with. The challenge this time is to create a male card with a tag on it. I would love to know you stopped by, so please leave a comment and good luck with the challenge
Luv & hugs
Lisa
I don't really know where the inspiration for this card came from, what I do know is when I was making it, the weather was doing what it does best ................... raining, so this card has a Autumnal feel even though we are in July.

I have used my favourite boy on my tag, Edwin with Stolen Heart, although the heart  is missing. The background paper was from my stash. I cut the fence from a Cheery Lynn die and the tree is a Memory box die. The leaves across the top are from a  Spellbinders die set, Floral Flourishes.
Edwin is coloured with Copic markers
Edwin's Jeans:
G99 & G94
Edwin's Trainers
YG03, G94 & YG95
 Edwin's Hair
E29 & E37
Edwin's Jumper
YG03 & B05
Edwin's Face/Skin
R11, E53 and E50
Edwin's Hat
BG05 & G94
The fence and tree have been coloured using my brushes with Distress inks : walnut stain, vintage photo, pine needles & forest moss.
